Step Up Committee

Consider the issues of at-risk youth and gangs in Tulare County. Make reports to the Board of Supervisors on matters referred to the committee by the Board of Supervisors. Inform the citizens of Tulare County of ways to prevent youth truancy and gangs in Tulare County. Conduct community outreach events and other public services aimed at assisting at-risk youth and prevention gang membership in Tulare County. Perform such other duties as the Board of Supervisors may direct.

This council will consist of one member of the Board of Supervisors, one member of the educational field and/or a school district, on member from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, one member from the County Probation Department, one member from the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office, one member from a community-based organization, one member from a faith-based organization, one community advocate and one member from the business community.
